Essential for business person on the move - I d be lost without this phone - for me emailing when out the office is essential and this phone is a delight to use.In fact I m typing this review via the phone. This is my first Nokia communicator so can t compare with the 9500 but it sure beats my earlier Palm and HP palm tops. I bought this early on and it was a bit buggy at first but firmware upgrades in the last 6 months have really improved its reliability and performance.pros:* big screen - very clear and bright* gps and in built mapping program. Very effective. I also use it when hiking and bought View Ranger OS mapping software* 3g is very fast and means communicate from virtually anywhere* quite a lot of software available* good keyboardCons:* size - bit smaller would be nice but then screen and keyboard wouldnt be as good

nokia E90 - Updated version of reliable 9500. Much tougher build, metal casing and hinges. Faster processor, similar intuitive menu options but not as good as the 9500. Get a car charger, very heavy on the battery due to great screen. Keyboard takes getting used to , not as easy to type as 9500. web browsing over wireless networks much faster than 9500. The only real advantage of this phone over the 9500 is increased speed. micro sd cards and the build. Check it out first and get a demo of the wap features on yout network before you buy, you might feeel that if you have managed to keep you re old 9500 or 9300 in good shape its worth waitng ubtil the price fall but its so jaw-droping cool you ll probably buy it. Amazon marketplace best prices so far

The Maria Callas of phones - The Nokia E90 is an impressive piece of kit. It is fully buzzword compliant and has an excellent build quality. The phone feels really nice to hold, its bulk is reassuring rather than getting in the way. The most impressive part of the device is the screen. It is big, clear and provides an excellent internet experience. The keyboard is too big to use one handed like the Nokia E61, but too small to touch type on. Much of the software available fails to take advantage of the big screen, aside from email and the web browser. The mapping software is quite hard to configure but is really useful once you get it going. The look and feel of it as a mini computer, belies the devices inherent weakness. Like other Nokia S60 devices I have owned the software doesn not like 1,000s of contacts like you may have in your outlook and hundreds of appointments in your calendar. In this respect it is useless compared to the old Palm Vx that I had some 7 years ago.It frequently needs to be wiped and you need to start again. In a short space of time my pre-production model would no longer recognise a USB connection and wouldnt allow me to load contacts, calendars, third party software.
